Communication for the Busan Biennale 2012;
Theme: “Garden of Learning”

The port city of Busan is the largest city of South
Korea after Seoul. Since 1998, the city has been
hosting the Busan Biennale.
In our work for the Busan Biennale, we focus on two
key elements.
One is the overall theme of “Garden of Learning" and
the other is the motto “Dynamic Busan”.
In connection with this, we see our work as a dynamic
process. “Dynamic” in the sense that people come
together to discuss topics, engage in learning processes
and actively contribute.
The Busan Biennale 2012 itself forms the core of our
work. In addition to the “usual” mandatory graphic
and design elements such as posters, catalogues etc.,
it is our aim to develop a further system that will
enable orientation; not just in and around the Biennale
but also linking to the local citizens. People with
different functions can get involved in the project and
make a contribution to the final execution. In this way,
it is not an autonomous artistic piece but more of an
object developed within a dynamic process over the
duration of the exhibition and which can thereafter
be broken down into its “individual structures”.
